FAQ
Paste your Base64 string or a data:application/pdf;base64,... URI into the box above and click Decode PDF. The decoder validates the PDF file signature, then shows an inline preview with a Download PDF button — all in your browser, nothing is uploaded.
This tool checks that the decoded bytes start with a valid PDF file signature before showing a preview. If you see an error, double-check that you copied the full Base64 string (including padding "=" characters) and that it actually represents a PDF and not another file type like an image.
Yes, decoded PDFs are limited to 10 MB. Very large Base64 strings can also be slow to paste into a browser textarea — if you regularly work with large PDFs, a desktop tool may be faster.
No. Decoding happens entirely client-side in your browser using the Base64 and PDF APIs built into JavaScript. Your data is never sent over the network.
This tool only decodes Base64 to PDF. To go the other direction, use a general Base64 encoder and upload the PDF file, or run "base64 file.pdf" from the command line on macOS/Linux.
